OurWay was founded in 2022 by Mark who wanted to create a live band with no restrictions on arrangements or genre. Simply live music played our way with a focus on entertaining our audience by doing what we do best. Mark knew Angelo, Tom and Brian from Kick Start Charlie and we all had a common interest in creating our own arrangements of songs spanning genres from blues, rock n' roll, country, funk, soul, and Motown. We would play in our style, true to form, and deliver the best music possible.
Our mantra is to never be boring and to give our audience something new and special each time they come to see us perform.
"Great Music Done OurWay"
We look forward to seeing you at our next show

Mark’s love for music started at the age of 8 years old, playing the Hammond L-102 spinet with his mom. His dad always had music playing in the house and in the car, mostly jazz. Mark’s earliest influences were Jimmy Smith, Wes Montgomery, Chick Corea, Blood Sweat and Tears and Earl Groove Holmes.

A family trip to the Connecticut shore, 1975 drove Mark to the guitar and rock n’ roll music. The hotrods at the snack shack, beach house parties and loud rock n roll music. Cruisin’ with his cousins Joe and Fran with Aerosmith Get Your Wings in the 8-track. Train Kept a Rolling with those screaming leads changed his life. From there it was Johnny Winter, Rick Derringer, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, and on and on…. until 1987 when Mark was introduced to the blues. Going back to the roots, he learned to play Piedmont style finger picking and learned slide guitar in open G and D tunings. Studying the greats like Albert, Freddie and BB King, Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughn (SRV), Johnny Winter, and Buddy Guy, Mark’s style was formed.
He has played with Dark Moon, Pale Zero, The Hudson Crawlers, Mojo Freddie and the Blues Blasters, Nobody’s Fault, Second Helping, Dancing Machine, Krave, Kick Start Charlie and many other recording sessions and fill in gigs.
Mark believes that you can play any genre of music in your own way. Reinterpret the songs and arrangements to suit your style and they will have a positive effect on the audience.

Tom has been playing drums and singing since he was 12 years old. Self-taught and having music in his blood (his mother a Julliard-trained piano instructor and choral singer; his father a “closet drummer” and choral singer), he was influenced by Ringo, Phil Collins, Bill Bruford, Simon Philips, Mick Fleetwood- any drummer who took the straight rock beat to an uncommon place. Tom believes that the role of any original musician is to serve the song in the most creative and complementary way possible.
Tom has worked with a multitude of musicians in the Rockland- Orange counties’ circuits, playing with bands such as Great Divide, Animal Farm, Ground Zero, FreeRange, Straight Shot, Lady Blue, Kick Start Charlie, Yosemite & Two For The Road. He has worked with songwriters Terry Klein, Joe Palmarini, David Frye, Kevin Finnen, John Stein, Jeff Iko & Paddy Mac- to name a few. He is known to be called upon by bands to sit in- on the same day of a performance- only to meet the demand and serve the songs.
Tom plays Yamaha Absolute Birch Nouveau Drums, Amedia & Zildjian cymbals, DW pedals and Gibraltar stands.
Tom and Angelo were the original drummer and bass player for Kick Start Charlie. Mark and Brian were also members of that band at varying occasions.

Self taught Guitar around the age of 12; playing with a few Garage Bands in the local towns. Never good enough to play lead guitar, he decided to switch to the Bass and enjoyed it much more. Played with many local Rock Bands in Clubs and also Weddings. Bands like The Open Road Band, Moonlight Connection, Moonlight Orchestra , a 2 piece Club Duo, and then a 13 year stay with Kick Start Charlie. Musical Influences early on were The Beatles, Stones, Traffic, The Eagles, Jethro Tull, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray, Johnny Winter , Crosby Stills Nash, and Young, The Cars and many other 70's and 80's artists.
He loves doing covers , but likes to add his own twist to them. Vocals are another love when possible , doing lead and back-up harmonies. Just playing any type of music , being Classic Rock, to Symphony stuff has always been a Mind Clearer
